Whirlwind Incidence

The incidence of whirlwinds (angin puyuh) has been dwindling down in the last 10 years. In 2019, there had been only 4% of villages which had experienced whirlwind episodes at least once during 2018-2019, as compared to 9% of villages during 2006-2008. Provinces with highest occurrences of whirlwinds in 2019 include Nusa Tenggara Timur (13% of villages), Sulawesi Selatan (11%) and DI Yogyakarta (10%).
