Annual inflation data are calculated using Consumer Price Index (CPI) collected from the Statistics Indonesia's website, publications and publication from 1979 to 2021.
In 2020, Indonesia's inflation rate is 1.68% (y.o.y) marking as the lowest annual inflation figure in history, due to COVID-19 Pandemic. The steep fall in inflation figure suggest there was a considerable decrease in aggregate demand and purchasing power as the pandemic hits almost all sectors in the economy. Specifically, the transportation sector is the worst impacted sector while some other sectors, such as health and ICT were enjoying an increase in demand due to the behaviour changes brought by the pandemic.
