Villages with Accessible Roads

There have been little improvements in road accessibility throughout Indonesian villages over time; in 1996, there were 82% of land-based villages with roads that can be accessed at any given time within a year. In 2019, this figure only rose by 5 percentage points -- around 87% of land-based villages had accessible roads in 2019. Provinces with highest presence of quality roads include Bali, where 99% of its villages already possessed roads that can be accessed at all times in a year. This stands in contrast with provinces Kalimantan Tengah and Papua, in which only 60% and 32% of its villages had roads that can be accessed at all times.
