The indicator reports the weighted percentage of adult individuals in Indonesia with savings account. The data are taken from the 2017-2019 National Socioeconomic Survey (Susenas). The adult population is defined as population aged 17 and above, and the population data are also taken from the National Socioeconomic Survey (Susenas).
In 2019, around one out of three adults in Indonesia owned a savings account. Savings account ownership tends to be concentrated in more economically-developed regions. For example, seven out of ten adults individuals in DKI Jakarta owned savings account. This stands in contrast with that observed in Sumatera Selatan, where only one out of ten adults owned a savings account.
