Source
The indicator reports the percentages of villages within a boundary area that have lights installed in the village's main roads. The data are taken from the Villages Potential (Podes) data, from 1996-2019.
in 2019, there were 75% of villages throughout Indonesia that had road lights installed along their main roads. This is a significant increase when compared to 1996, where the same figure had only been 42%. As expected, road lights are more ubiquitous among developed areas. All villages in DKI Jakarta, for example, had road lights installed along the main roads. Other provinces with the highest road light presence include Jawa Barat, Bali, and DI Yogyakarta. On the contrary, poorer areas tend to have lesser lights presence: only two out of 10 villages in Nusa Tenggara Timur had road lights installed along the main roads, while the percentage is even lower in Papua (only 15%).
